an “audio collage” I made 1 month ago
Beneath the weight we heave,
above the earth we trample,
the mentor holds a candle
while the cherry blossoms bleed
and sprinkle out their leaves.
The pedals make their landing
on the back of the camel
now broken on its knees.
-
In all honesty I can’t say
that I feel more alive
after dragging corpses for miles
I only feel a slight pang
and a change in my smile
as the sweat starts to dry.

Barren white walls
gush from between the attempted decoration.
Turn on the least harsh light.
-
Windows are open,
curtains are shut,
stand behind the often pierced privacy.
-
This room encapsulates the self
inside a pill that no one would swallow.
Drape the bedsheets over your head.
-
Bare feet touch the carpet
the dirt you can’t see
it sticks to the sweaty palms.
-
Spiderwebs spun in plain sight
they cannot be shooed away.
Eat them in your sleep.
-
Monotony drives like a screw
into the daily routine of a boy
whose fanciful thoughts remain stagnant.
-
Each day ends before it ever starts
thus you find me here.
with somebody who loves me
To let my hopes unfurl into leisure
for a sigh of relief to then resound.
To offer up my hand towards nobody
and have it cradled in somebody’s very own.
To deserve so much happiness and ease
in awareness that these will not come alone.
To toil in the garden grown of tears
and to reap the fruits that sorrows lend to sow.
.
To throw my voice into its point of breaking
to simply hear it ring the perfect note.
To kick the habit that slowly seems to eat at me
and never it returns before I go.
To stitch the thatch that always let the rain in
for water to be held above the floor.
To give up on the hunting for a happiness;
thus it gives itself to me forever more.
.
Which form of justice will come to me in time?
As long as I am searching
it will never be mine.
